Obsessed with Spider-Man? Of course not! I AM SPIDER-MAN.

We all have a favorite superhero, who we have loved since we were kids. Those characters marked our lives and were a fundamental part of our childhood.

There are some people who love Batman, Iron man, Captain America. and some others, depending on the time they were born. For example, my father is a big fan of "Mazinger Z", one of the best cartoons of all times, played on TV around the 80s.

In my case, as you already saw on the title, I'm a big fan of Spider-Man, and I will tell you just a little bit about how this love for this superhero started. I remember that when I was a child my father had a VCR player, the one in which you insert a cassette tape, and he bought the original Spider-Man movie tape on VHS. This movie was out on 2002, but I watched it 4 years later, when I was 6 years old. To be honest with you, I watched this movie too many times that I learned every dialogue of the movie, and still, I don't feel tired to watch it again and again. But going back to my childhood, my mom bought me a Spider-Man cake for my seventh birthday, and one of my aunts just bought me a Spider-Man mask and some Spider-Man pajamas, I was fascinated with that.

Later on, after watching Spider-Man 2 and 3 when I was 8 years old, I figured out that my favorite superhero was Spider-Man, even some of cousins called me "Payeman" because that's the way I used to say it. 

Moving out to the present, I still love a lot of things related to my favorite superhero. If you know a little about me, you already saw me wearing some Spider-Man shirts, bracelets, even my cellphone case has a spider over there, and my recent birthdays party's were decorated with some Spider-Man stuff like ballons, masks, and of course, the colors red and blue. Another thing, that I want to add is that sometimes I feel identified with the character of Peter Parker, specifically in the films interpreted by Tobey Maguire, because those are the best ones (in my opinion), and if you already watched Spider-Man 2, you could noticed how Peter Parker suffered a lot: he didn’t had money, he was tired and sad, he tried to work and study at the same time, and he also felt like he lost his powers, and sometimes I fell kind of the same.

However, I always try to remember one of the famous phrases of the Spider-Man movies: 

"With great power, comes great responsibility"

Being a Tourist Guide on a Rainy Weekend

Sometimes planning a trip isn’t as funny as doing something at the last minute, spontaneously. Last weekend, I had one of the craziest and most fascinating weekends of this year. 

Everything began on Friday when I asked one of my best friends to come visit my hometown, a magical place rich in culture and tradition called Ilobasco, better known nowadays as Cabañas Oeste. It was going to be a very special visit since it would be the first time he would come to know this place, so I was extremely excited. However, I began to think that it would be impossible for him to come because I told him at the last minute, and as you all know, sometimes you have to plan things in advance. But surprisingly, he called me: "Bro, you know what? See you tomorrow in your land; my mom agrees, so I’m down." I was in shock but excited at the same time.

The next day, Saturday, I woke up early and got ready to leave because I went to pick him up at the bus station in San Salvador, since he lives there and did not know which bus route comes to Ilobasco. Finally, after almost three hours of travel, we arrived in the city. Unfortunately, it was raining heavily, so we went straight to my house to wait for the rain to stop, but it did not. While the sunset was coming to an end, I took out the car and drove around the city. First, we visited the central park with its imposing church in front of it. Then we went around to different streets, and finally, we made a stop at a supermarket to buy some drinks, snacks, and other stuff because we planned to stay up all night. And of course, we did it. We spent the entire night as if we were on a podcast, talking about different interesting topics such as religion, politics, music, horror stories, childhood experiences, love, and many more things that I don’t remember because I was tipsy. We finally got some sleep at 5:15 a.m. Then, three hours later, we woke up with hangover symptoms, but despite that, it was my turn to be a tourist guide. First, we went to visit the famous sales of clay crafts, and of course, we ate a delicious "Minuta" with lemon and mango, which I highly recommended, by the way. Then, when everything seemed to be perfect, the rain started again, but we continued with the tour. We went inside the Catholic church located in the central park of the city, and finally, I took him to a famous restaurant in the city called "Artisan's Burger," so we ended the day with a pleasant dinner.

Certainly, he was fascinated with the city, and he promised he would be back soon to spend another crazy weekend together, but this time without rain. Finally, I would like to take the opportunity to invite anyone who is reading this, to visit my magical hometown Ilobasco. I am pretty sure you will like it, and of course, I will be your personal guide on this trip.
